Bugs

02/25/08 3:04pm PST: Registered for greenhome server - plowed through all the way to uploading my icon image without clicking on my activation URL. As expected, the picture upload process threw a permission violation error. After I clicked on the activation URL and logged in, I again attempted to upload the exact same photo. This time it failed telling me that the image was already on the server. Seems like the permission check is a little late in the upload process. I was able to use non-logged-in filename to set my image.

02/25/08 3:17pm PST: When clicking "I own it/I had it/I want it" on an object that is already categorized, such as a car - it seems strange that the "add to product profile" dialog 1) asks me for a category and/or 2) always selects Kitchen by default.

  *** The logic here is that in future Huddles, users will customize the names of their product profile tabs because it's more interesting to know what products they use together, not what category those products are in, e.g. in  a Home Theater Huddle they could have 'Primary Home Theater', 'Bedroom Setup', etc. in which case we can't map product categories to tabs. Because these tabs aren't customizable for Green Home (yet?), it's definitely a bit confusing, but not likely something we'll address in the short term.

02/25/08 3:28pm PST: The UPDATE YOUR PROFILE Own/Had/Want buttons do not reflect your previous selection. If you allow people to change settings, you need to show them the current setting, or they might keep clicking on the same thing.

03/01/08 11:47am PST: See http://greenhome.huddler.com/forum/thread/116/what-is-a-pv-system?replies=1 - a comment thread on a wiki page. From this comment thread, I can't find a way to get to the wiki page that it refers to. Suggestiion: Either add a See The Wiki Page link/icon or make the board name clickable and link back to the page. Ideally, there would be a way to see both the wiki content and the comment thread on the same page, but I know that's a lot of work...

03/01/08 08:23pm PST: Getting timeouts (3) when attempting to view the history of this page [before I added this bug.] Went away after adding this bug. I'm not sure if that's related.

 02/25/08 3:09pm PST: Suggestion - If the users Product Profile is completely empty, put a call-to-action URL into it to "Add your products" which links to PRODUCTS instead of just reporting that the section is empty.

 *** There is an "Add Products" link at the lower right corner, but you're right, it's not nearly obvious enough.
