Gimme Some Action Contest

So you want to know more about the Gimme Some Action contest, huh?

Why are we doing this?

As of recently, Huddler's Green Home has expanded into all different categories! We're now including food, clothes, baby stuff, and much more along with all the other categories you've come to know and love. Also, the action shot feature is quite new and we'd love to get some folks having some fun with it. So here we go!

How do you win

One grand prize winner will be selected based on how many votes he/she gets from his/her action shot. This winner will be known as the "Crowd Favorite."

The second grand prize will be selected by the Huddler staff based on the best action shot-review combination. This winner will be known as the "Reviewer Extraordinaire."

One runner-up for each category will also be selected.

What you have to do (in a nutshell)

Join the huddle (if you haven't already).
Take action shots of you/your baby and your green products in action (head down below for some great examples).
Upload them to this forum thread.
[NOTE: You are of course welcome to enter more than one photo, just make sure you add them in different posts -- to spell it out, click reply, upload one photo, hit submit. Repeat as necessary.]
Make sure to include the name of the product (and if you're feeling ambitious, link it to the product page in the huddle).
Get your friends to join the huddle and vote for your photo! (This will help you become the Crowd Favorite. But be warned...if we suspect anyone is using fake email addresses to make fake accounts and rack up the fake votes...we'll take the appropriate steps.)
To be eligible to win the Reviewer Extraordinaire, you need to write a review for the green product that is featured in your action shot. The more thorough your review, the better your chances. And don't hesitate to write reviews of ALL your green products! Those are huge brownie points.

If you're feeling up to it, go to your green product's existing page and add your action shot there! To do that, click the "Add Images" button which you'll find directly under the main image. Browse your computer to find your action shot and select it. Make sure to check the box indicating that your photo is an action shot. Click submit! And watch your action shot magically appear on the product page.

Make sure you enter before September 30,2008!

How To Vote

So you actually can't vote for your own photo. That's right, they do indeed have to be voted up by other folks. But this is how it works (so make sure to tell your friends).

Go to the contest thread.
Find your favorite photo.
At the top of the post, you'll see a grey bar. On the right hand side, you'll see "Rate Post" and a thumbs up. To vote for that photo, click the thumbs up and you'll give the post a score of 1+!

Brownie points

As we’ve mentioned before, there’s a minimum participation level to be entered into the contest. But there are several ways to get brownie points:

Add MORE action shots
Write MORE reviews
Write MORE wikis
Get friends to join (and get your friends to actually DO something like write reviews, etc.)
Post in the forums

Action Shot Examples

Judging

The Crowd Favorite will be juged by the members of the huddle. The Reviewer Extraordinaire will be judged by the Huddler staff. We will be looking for effor and thoroughness and that gut feeling that just makes us say “Wow! That’s an awesome contribution to the Huddle!”

Prizes

Well...over here at the Huddler headquarters, we have been working hard to put together some sweet prizes for you. You've gotten the general overview but here are the details on each prize:

Crowd Favorite Grand Prize Winner will win a solar camera bag from Eclipse Solar Gear.

Reviewer Extraordinaire Grand Prize Winner will win a Nikon Eco-Green Coolpix.

Runners-Up (two of them) will win a $50-70 gift certificate to Simple Shoes.
