If I could change one thing in the world, it would be:
Remove greed and self-serving actions from the equation for all business activities.
I think the most important environmental issue is:
Over population. Period.
The greenest thing I do is:
Not having children.
What does "sustainability" mean to me:
Allowing the natural environment to retain its importance while renewing itself at a rate that matches the rate of consumption on the part of the human population.
Why am I passionate about being green?
Because actions catagorized as "green" can be small or large. Collectivley they can have an impact.
I fear, however, that the green movement will ultimately be seen as a slowing down of an inevitable decline in the planet's ability to retain diversity of species, habitat for wild animals, and habitat for humans.
About Me
I am an urban planner with a background in consumer cooperatives and education. I am fortunate to live in a semi-rural part of California that retains much of the charm that has drawn people here for nearly 200 years. I am now working on local strategies to reduce sprawl and provide an enjoyable urban area for people to enjoy. Concepts focus on walkable neighborhoods near services that can be reached easily on foot or by bicycle.
Thanks so much for checking out the site - I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on how we can improve. I'm fascinated by urban planning and will look forward to learning more about it with you in the Huddle!
