My spouse & I have been car free over a year now. We started with e-scooters but moved up to our Europa e-bikes about 6 months ago. We've each added 2 folding baskets to the back of our bikes so we can carry 4+ bags of groceries between us easily. These bikes are sturdy & built to last. There are some minor things like the fit of the battery compartment & its locks that could be improved, but overall we are quite happy.
The bikes are easy to maintain & pedal. Acceleration is smooth & the batteries last. We've easily gone 35 miles on one battery charge (using the battery to assist peddling, of course. On the battery alone, on an even roadway with no wind against you, I'd say you could get well over 10 miles on a charge.)
I've ridden scooters and motorcycles over the years as well, but I love e-bikes: I can take them on sidewalks when the bike lanes are treacherous or impassible. They park wherever there is room for a bike. They also give me a good workout & allow some human power to my transportation.
The best of all worlds, imo.
