Big fan of these boots

While not the most glam boots in the world, these definitely make the eco-chic cut.  I have the heather grey color (they're trimmed with a nice little reddish fabric) and they're pretty perfect for cold, grey San Francisco days.  I haven't experienced them in rain yet, so we'll see what happens on that front...

The boots are really very comfortable, but do note they run a just tad on the snug side.  I wear an 8.5 usually and that's with normal socks.  In these, I'd say they feel like an 8.25 and I tend to opt for thinner socks to fit them a bit better.

They lace up in the back (apparently I don't read descriptions) which surprised me a little.  It takes some getting used to lacing them up (they've got those brass nub things, like hiking boots) and I felt a bit awkward twisting my neck around to see if I had gotten the laces around properly.  But once you get the feel for it, it's fine.  The lacing is great because you can make them as tight or loose as you'd like (depending on your calf size, if you want to tuck in your pants, etc).  I recommend tying the extra lace around the front though (they way it is in this stock photo) because if you tie it at the back (and it's not super tight), you might end up dragging your fallen laces around.

The only issue I have with them is that they don't have much arch support, so for lots of walking they might be less ideal.  Maybe try half a size up and an insert.

But in any case, I highly recommend them!
