For the most part, my dishes come out clean and sparkling. However, this does not remove lip marks (from lip balms or lipsticks) from the glasses. Slightly annoying as you have to remember to wipe the marks off before you put the glasses in the washer -or- rewash by hand after.
The label does recommend that you have your water heater at 140 degrees for most effective cleaning. Due to scalding risk with young kids, we've chosen to turn our heater down. Perhaps we'd have better cleaning if it was at the higher temp.
Another Get Clean product I love! In all fairness, I have never tried another brand of green dishwasher powder/liquid before this one. I do know several people who have and had a hard time finding a green alternative that actually gets things clean.
I find this one works wonderfully. I use about 4 tablespoons of baking soda in my prewash cycle and 2 teaspoons of this product in my “main” cup. My dishes always come out sparkling clean with no residue left behind.
They also do not have that “chemical” smell that they had when washed with Cascade. That smell bothered me as I’m sure there are unpleasant things left on your dishes with that smell. Things I didn’t want my young children ingesting with their snacks!
Of course, clean is subjective. Remember that these green alternatives do not contain chlorine and will not “bleach” things white. I’m good with that.
I still have the odd cutlery issue but that happened with Cascade also so no big deal.
You don’t need a rinse aid with this product but I hate water spots so I just purchased the Ecover rinse aid and will review it after I’ve had a chance to judge its performance.
Shaklee has a patent on this powder so I’m sure there is something special about its formulation. I’m very happy with it and have no need to search anymore.
