Works well, nice for sensitive skin. Can't say it is better then other non eco brands but it surely isn't worse.

Does this paper get the job done? Yes. Does it do so with 100% recycled paper, a significant portion of which (80%) is post-consumer? Yes.

And maybe the (slightly) grainy texture of the paper even encourages me to use less of it. From a global perspective, I know that's a good thing.

But part of me (you can guess which part) does still long for the old days, when I ignorantly used super-soft triple-layered quilted toilet papers.

Seventh Generation, if you're reading this: maybe a "deluxe" version that's both green AND super-soft?

Tip for users: one side is much less grainy than the other. It's worth identifying the softer side!

In an effort to save money and the environment, I used to get the thinnest, least processed-seeming toilet paper. The roll lasts forever, is single ply, and is quite cheap. Last time I went to the store, I decided to get this seventh generation paper (which is frustratingly NOT in the same aisle as the rest of the toilet paper, but is in the special health food aisle at the other end of the store) and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. It was soft and fluffy, but still lasted a good while (not as long as the single ply, of course, but you can't have everything). I am completely converted. What I don't understand is why they don't have (at least some of) the paper in the regular toilet paper aisle. It is very competitively priced, and I think way more people would buy it if it were sitting right there next to everything else (though that might be more an issue with Albertson's, not Seventh Generation). Anyway, this paper is highly recommended!

Short of only using toilets with bidets, there's not a lot you can do in the US to get away from using toilet paper. Pick the greenest option - 7th Gen is recycled and wrapped in recycled paper. You can purchase it online (Amazon) and get a case of 48 individually paper wrapped rolls for $40 -- the price is competitive if you figure it out on a per-sheet cost.

Isn't it incredible that more companies don't use recycled paper? And what's up with shrinkwrapping tp in plastic?

I was a little scared to try this out. When we got it I switched right away. You can tell that it isn't as soft as the "regular" toilet paper but it isn't bad. I think its better than the cheapo brands.
It doesn't have any absorption problems. Meaning that it doesn't soak through when you wipe, YUCK!
I have two kids (12 & 8) and neither has said anything about the change. I think that says a lot. Especially since my daughter always complains about the paper in public restrooms being "gross".
I would buy this product again.

This is the best green toilet paper I've found, even down to the packaging. Purchasing by the case gets the cost down to "regular" toilet paper cost, but with the added green awesomeness. Secretly - it's also satisfying how each roll has slightly different textures and look.

I bought the four pack of SG bathroom tissue because that is all the store had. So I couldn't buy in bulk like I usually do, but that was alright. The tissue feels like the normal economy tissue paper (not the plushy double-thick-double-roll-etc kind, but a reasonable tissue paper). The only problem was that it was one-ply, and I found myself using more to make up for this. That fact doesn't negate the fact that SG is completely recycled, but adds to the bulk of paper used overall. It also undermines the cost-effectiveness, which is not good in the face of non-SG tissues that cost less. But as for side by side comparison with other products, this bath tissue stands up.

I love this toilet paper! It works great! It is perfect for my family. I love that it helps the environment too! You really should try it! It is not as soft as some kinds but I like it the way it is.

I have a confession to make: my son uses a LOT of toilet paper. I've lectured on and on about being environmentally friendly but it seems to go in one ear and out the other. So in an effort to soothe my own conscious, I began buying Seventh Generations 1 ply toilet paper. I find that 1 ply is hard to find, but have to admit that SG's version is gentler on my sensitive areas. Compared to other toilet papers, it is a little pricey - $1.29 per roll or $6.99 for the multi-packs. But my peace of mind is worth a little more, not to mention a better planet, so I buy one roll per week (my family goes through about 3/4 of a roll per week), so I don't notice a big hit in the wallet all at once.

SG does also have an email coupon program, but I do find it's for their newer product promotions and not their sturdy stand-bys.

Well, I really wanted to like this paper and I paid the steep price of $10 for 12 rolls (on sale, mind you). But here is the deal. Even though the rolls have more sheets than Green Forest, I end up using more paper because this paper is: thinner, rougher and less absorbent. I don't think that I will be buying this again.

You might think toilet paper is toilet paper. And at the end of the day...as long as it's not sand paper or a leaf, you're probably okay. But this Seventh Gen TP isn't bad at all. It's not the softest of all the toilet papers in the world and if you've got a cold and are blowing your nose quite a bit, you might want to opt for something besides just a roll of this stuff...but when you're in the WC/lavatory/outhouse/etc, it's a solid option. And of course it's 100% recycled content and isn't whitened with scary bleaching stuff.
