Didn't clean well
nitedreamer reviewed May 20, 2008 at 11:49 am

Maybe we didn't have the best dishwasher in our apartment, but unless I pre-rinsed my dishes, they didn't get completely cleaned using this product. This was especially the case with glasses that we drank chocolate soymilk in- there would still be soymilk reside in the bottom of the glass. One day if I had a new dishwasher, I would probably try it again. But with the machine we had, I had to switch to a chemical-based dishwasher soap. Their handwashing dish soap works great though!

I just bought this detergent and I really am not too satisfied with it.  It smelled great but I found that it left a residue on my dishes.  I had to use more than my normal soap to get the dishes really clean.  I will probably try something else next time.  However, I love 7th Gen dish soap!

Did not get my dishes clean
Colliemom655 reviewed November 9, 2008 at 8:05 am

Maybe be cause we have harder water here in the Midwest, but this product did not get my dishes clean in the dishwaser. I ended up pitching it.  Also, we used it in our brand new Bosh dishwasher so it was not the dishwasher.

It's like Aromatherapy for your kitchen

I think this product does the job, plus it smells devine. Our whole kitchen gets an aromatherapy treatment when we run the dishwasher.

Hooray! No nasty chemical smell!

Not only is it better for the planet, but it's safer for a household with a curious toddler in residence.

Although 7th Gen. may not sandblast the dishes, it does a really wonderful job. I have used other detergent in the past year, and was struck by the way that smelled, as well as the not so delightful burning sensation in my nose and eyes while the dishwasher was running. Not so with this- just lovely lemon or gentle green apple.

Pros: Pleasant, not overpowering smell; toddler safe

Cons: Won't remove old crusted on food (but what does?)
Dominates Cascade
Deej reviewed April 30, 2008 at 9:07 am

Here at Huddler we're a tight little family - we spend a lot of hours together and as a result create a dirty dish or two. We had one of those mondo-Costco sized Cascade dish detergent bottles that just wouldn't die, but it finally did and we unceremoniously trashed it and grabbed some Seventh Gen.

This stuff rocks our collective socks.

One of our developers has a penchant for eating bowls of frozen blueberries - this leaves a serious purple film all over dishes. We all eat a lot of cereal and dried Honey Bunches of Oats don't come of easily, but they are no match for Seventh Gen. The dishes are cleaner than ever and we hardly use any of it in each load. Great product.
