I read the reviews here, and thought the worst problem would be the water splashing out the back, which sounded fixable, so I bought one.  At first I too had water on the floor after each flush, but it wasn't coming out the back (which I'd duct taped anyway, just in case).  Turned out it was leaking from the gasket between the tank & bowl, and after tightening the bolts more than I thought I should, the problem was solved. 

The worst design problem I think is with the seat.  First, the bolts holding the seat down are much smaller than the holes in the toilet, and so there is too much play with the seat.  A little squirming results in the whole seat sliding over the edge of the bowl.  I think I've solved that by putting a ring of tacky material under the seat around the bolt.  There should be a bushing, but this seems to work too.  The next problem is probably due to the plastic nature of the seat, which allows too much play between the seat and hinge, but it is exacerbated by the slippery landing strips (I can't think of the real name) under the seat.  I fixed this problem by putting a layer of silicon calk on each strip.  Finally, when sitting on the cover, any sideways movement causes the cover to slide off of the seat to one side or the other.  I'm still working on this one.  All in all, kind of shabby for a seat supposedly designed for the toilet.  The slow close thing works okay, but it is probably not like an expensive seat, and may not continue to work as well as when new.  Oh, and the seat would be a lot easier to put on before the tank is bolted.  It's not really a problem, just an annoyance.

Finally, so far it has not shown any signs of clogging, but it also hasn't left a completely clean flush.  Testing and adjustments continue.  It works well enough that I calked around the base and sent in the city rebate form, so there you go.  One thumb up.

In terms of installation, the Pegasus is the same as any other toilet. With the exception of some tools (wrench, screwdriver, etc.) the toilet came with everything we needed. We did end up buying a second wax ring just to be sure it didn't leak, and a longer water line because the nipple on the tank is toward the front, whereas on our previous toilet it was toward the back. The instructions were good, and installation was not too difficult.

The "flapperless" design is pretty cool. The toilet flapper is the rubber piece that essentially acts as a plug to the water drain inside the tank. This toilet instead simply has a 1.28 gallon container which fills up with water (see images). Once it reaches a certain level (the 1.28 gallon mark), the water shuts off automatically. When you push the handle to flush the toilet, it simply rotates the water container to dump out the water, and it then gets refilled. Very simple design, and it works great. Despite the low amount of water used, it flushes everything without a problem.

This particular toilet has the elongated bowl design. Personally I prefer the round bowl design, but they didn't have any ultra-low flow round bowl toilets at Home Depot. It's a very nice looking toilet though, and comes with 3 handles to choose from (white, silver, and brushed silver). It's also a little extra tall (they call it "comfort height").

Overall I'm very happy with the Pegasus toilet. It looks good, saves a ton of water, is cleverly designed, and works great. It's a relatively inexpensive toilet too. Many of the 1.6 gallon toilets were over $200.

I purchased two units.  The water level was set for 1gpf on each.  This setting works very well on one toilet.  I had to adjust the second toilet to the 1.28gpf setting.  This toilet now performs as well as the other one. Which is excellent.  It does take a few weeks to get used to the flush as the flushing properties are different from the toilets we replaced.  When flushed the water does not immediately gush into the bowl.  We often thought we did not push the handle all the way.  As the water enters the bowl slow and then faster.  It also is quieter than we were used to.  We no longer have to hold the flush handle down to ensure a clog free flush.  Our old 1.6gpf were notorious for clogging if we did not hold the handle down long enoungh.  Now that we have adjusted our expectations of the toilet we just flip the handle and don't have to worry about clogs.

 I noticed that the manufactured date was November 2007 on the one which needed adjustment.  The other one was manufactured in May of 2008.  The connector between the tank and bowl is different.  I wonder if improvements have been made to the unit?  The improvement has allowed the 1gpf setting to be used. The 1.28gpf setting on the "older" unit solved flush problems we occassionally experienced.  I will gladly take the higher water setting as the leaking toilet problem that we  continually had with the 1.6gpf toilets.  We are still saving water and won't have to replace the gaskets every 2 years.  Presumably the gaskets were leaking long before we noticed and the flapperless design will eliminate wasted water leaking into the toilet.  The Pegasus also flushes better and leaves the bowl cleaner than the 1.6gpf units ever did.

I have not experienced the splashing problem as described by others. The vent holes are at the very top of the tank.   The "older" manufactured unit did have the loose seat problem.  I removed the seat and then installed it again.  This has solved the problem. 

I did have to buy longer water connections to connect the toilet to the water supply.  This worked out alright as I upgraded the supply line to burst proof braided stainless.    I would recommend buying the braided stainless water line along with the toilet.  I had to return to the store to purchase the supply lines.

I plan on replacing a third toilet in the future and will be purchasing another flapperless unit.  Most likely I will purschase the Pegasus, though I might purchase some other flapperless design to better match the pedestal sink. I did notice a matching Pegasus sink and might just remodel the whole bathroom. 

When toilet is flushed, the water tub tips forward dumping water to front bottom of tank. Water then splashes to back of tank, up the back wall of the tank and out the two tank rear lip indentations onto the wall behind the tank and down the outside of the tank onto the floor. Product needs to go back to drawing board to correct tank splash/leak problem.  Retro-fit corrective solution also needs to be created and provided to current owners, if product is to become more than just a pretty throne.

This toilet has a definite design flaw. But I'm not completely sure whether there were also installation problems as well. The installers did not seem to know very much about flaperless toilets. When you 'twist' the handle to dump the reservoir on the Pegasus 1.28, water splashes out of the air intake holes at the top of the back of the tank, runs down the wall and on to the floor. In my case, it only splashed out of the right side, apparently because the installation is not level. The only solution the installer could come up with was to lower the water level in the dump tray. The result is that the toilet flushes with about 1 gallon or less of water, which is not enough to flush much of anything properly. Also, this solution lowers the level of water in the bowl, bringing it dangerously close to the 'vent' hole. If it goes below that, sewer gasses will come back up and be released into the room. In order to flush solid waste, it requires about 8 flushes. Not exactly a water saver. To their credit, Home Depot has agreed to let me choose a different toilet as a replacement. I would not recomend this toilet to anyone.
