Mrs. Meyer's hand soap has a pretty normal soap consitency, and cleans well; unlike Dr. Bronners which seemed a little thick, and EO, which didn't seem terribly effective.
So Mrs. Meyer's touts their natural ingredients...I guess some people argue that sodium lauryl sulfate is "natural" given that it's derived from coconut or palm kernal oil...but....but....I'm not so keen on it in my personal care products, given that it's used as an engine degreaser. Sadly, there it is, plain and simple in Mrs. Meyer's hand soap. That, and sodium laureth sulfate...the "fragrance" ingredient is also a little mysterious.
Beyond that, it's not a terrible soap. It cleans well and doesn't leave my hands as dry as some other "natural-ish" soaps I've tried (but it still doesn't hold a candle to Dr. Bronner's hand soap). It sudses well (but that's probably because of the SLS) and washes off cleanly. And the lemon verbena one smells quite nice. According to Mrs. Meyer's Environment and Safety Info, their products are biodegradable and what not...but I think I might avoid picking this up after we get through this bottle.
