To sum it up quickly - my whole family loves this appliance so far. Love? Well it helps that our last one was soooo bad that the difference is substantial between the two. It takes a little getting used to it's style of washing - uses very little water, HE soap, moves the clothes back and forth in an unfamiliar fashion, and the spin cycles are quite fast. Once you get used to it - it is kinda cool.
If you are putting the washer on a second floor (or a first floor above a basement) we found that you can get some unwanted vibration, thus additional noise. The solution that worked for us was to set the spin cycle for the second highest setting, instead of the highest. Slowed it down enough to get rid of nearly all the vibration, but still got most of the water out of the clothes.
