For a quick snack, a pouch of this dried pineapple will do the trick. It's not jam packed with extra sugar or sulfites or weird stuff, so that's great. It's also organic and sustainably farmed, so obviously A+ there. As flavor goes, if I ate it blind folded, I'm not sure I'd be able to identify it as pineapple. But it's quite delicious, albeit dehydrate. Unlike some other dried fruits, dried pineapple (or at least Kopali's version) isn't too tough or hard to chew. Texture wise, it's actually still quite soft. So I'd have to say...yes, I would eat it again. Although, because a 1.7 ounce package costs just shy of $5...I can't say I'd make a habit out of it.
I had never had dried pineapple before, so I was excited to try it. This stuff is actually really tasty. Pineapple remains relatively fleshy even after dehydration, so it's tender and chewy and delicious.
Main downside is that a relatively small pouch was $4.75, but that might be more Whole Foods fault than Kopali's.
