Love mate blends, but not fond of watery drinks.
So I have yet to try all the Guayaki Yerba Mate teas...but let me tell you, Pure Heart (the raspberry one) is really quite excellent. I'm a fan of mate, but even if you're not, this tea is really mild (when it comes to mate flavor). It's also packed with some good antioxidents, according to the label.. It has 3,768 units in an 8 ounce serving compared to 2,700 units (ORAC value) in 8 ounces of green tea.
The only thing is...it's a bit on the pricey side. I normally fork over something like $1.20 per single bottle of Honest Tea (although right now it's on special at Whole Foods for $1 per bottle...and if you buy it in a flat of a dozen, it's $10 for 12 or something like that). So $2 seems a little extravagant.
But it's definitely a nice change from coffee. And yeah...I'll most likely drink it again.
I absolutely love Guayaki product and the people who supply it. They have had an eager team of Mate Movers at different events I've attended, and they are really genuine folks.
On the product side, I have not found a better blend of premade Mate Teas that are both delicious and full of ONLY good stuff.
I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't $2.40 a bottle at Whole Foods, but that felt a little steep. I've really enjoyed standard Yerba Mate in a gourd many times, so I was a little reluctant to try it in sweetened, bottled from. It's GREAT (maybe I'm just caffeinated...)
I had the Pure Mind flavor (Pomegranate) - it doesn't really have any of the bitterness of standard Yerba Mate. Highly recommended.
