About Freezers

Some really great things come frozen: popsicles, ice cream, glaciers. The latter could use your help in staying frozen. So when freezing your foods, go energy efficient! In this Huddle, we include only those chest and upright freezers that meet Energy Star criteria. Full size freezers (7.75 cu. ft or more) are at least 10% more efficient than the minimum federal standard; compact freezers (less than 7.75 cu. ft and 36 inches high) are at least 20% more efficient than the minimum federal standard.
