Based on auburnflower's review, I decided to try BioKleen Dishwash Liquid. So far I've been pleased. It works just as well as your standard dishwashing soap, but doesn't have any toxic chemicals. It's also moisturizing, which is a bonus when doing dishes, because it keeps my hands from drying out. The only downside is that the soap's odor is a bit on the strong side, but it's just citrus, so personally I don't have a problem with it. It smells a lot like when I toss a lemon down the garbage disposal.
I really love this dishwashing soap. It doesn't dry out my hands as much as other soaps. It cuts through grease better than most other name-brand products. It's biodegradable, eco-friendly. It has a great smell. Citrus. That would be the grapefruit seed and orange peel extract. Also good for killing germs. I highly recommend it. I'm not sure about the price since it's been about a month since I bought a new bottle. I think it's about $3.00. Maybe a bit more but I can tell you that I wash all my dishes by hand and this bottle has lasted me over a month. Great value!
I was looking for a green dishwashing liquid and got this because it was on sale. I love the smell and the fact that it is so concentrated. It is very good with grease and did I mention the smell? The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars is that it leaves my hands a bit dry, but then I had this problem with all dish liquids, I was just hoping that this would be better. So, it does the job well, does not cost more than conventional detergents and I have the added satisfaction that it does not contain harmful chemicals. I also use it to clean the floors and thinking of using it on delicate clothes. Because it is so concentrated, based on how much I have used in a month, I calculate that this will last me a year (we are a 2 people household and do all dishes by hand).
