Tesla releases a photo of the Model S

We've got our first glimpse of the entire Model S prototype (not just its butt).

I saw that pic up somewhere else yesterday - I must say that's one of the meanest, sexiest looking cars I have ever seen in my life. Awesome. Now I just need to start saving some dough....

Haha yeah, it is pretty badass looking.  A little like the original Volt prototype, actually.  But with a 240 mile range, the Model S has a lot more wiggle room than the Volt, so they shouldn't have to make the body style concessions that GM had to.

Just $60k Deej - save up those nickels and pennies!

Not a bad looking car at all.  I suppose I'd drive it.  :-)  Let's just hope it doesn't get delayed any more...

This comes from an Earth2Tech post on the matter:

We don’t doubt that Musk and existing investors will be able to keep Tesla going in the near term and ensure Roadster orders get delivered, but of bigger concern is Tesla’s larger plans for its Model S and eventually its even cheaper (potentially $20,000) electric car for the mass market. Tesla’s Konrad says the first Model S sedans are still expected to roll off the assembly line in the second half of 2011 — six to nine months later than originally anticipated. But there have been a lot of timelines set and not met at Tesla. If the financial turmoil continues, it could spell real trouble for Tesla and its plans to disrupt Detroit.

Very sleek. I would be afraid to drive it; its too nice looking to risk on the road! Way too pricey for most people I know, however. Even $20k is too much for people in my area. I would like to see economy of scale eventually kick in and drive the prices down to $10k or below. I can dream cant i?

I would not exactly drive it to a neighborhood store as I might with a Lotus or Maseratti!  Another model to consider!  It would look great next to my (recum-)Bently!  ;-)
