Funny Greenwash

I really don't want to hate on New Resource Bank because I think they're pretty cool...fyi, here's a quick list of their principles from their site:

CORE FOCUS

  • To provide attentive and customized banking to entrepreneurial businesses, developers and professional service firms
  • Deliver tailored products and services to non-profit organization and foundations to further their goals
  • Give individual customers personalized service, attractive rates, banking convenience and a tangible way to support their community through every day activities

We believe in banking efficiently. We will provide our customers with innovative products and technology to help them achieve their financial goals while saving time and resources. Our own operations will be highly efficient. Our banking facility has been built to the standards of a Gold LEED CI certification.

I award full points for a lot of their great, noble efforts. I just thought it was funny when I walked past their office in SF today and saw this:

"Thank you for Saving Energy" says the totally unnecessary, floating plasma TV...

Hah wow.  You would think if they really wanted to encourage/thank people about saving energy, they could have just put a poster in the window.  This definitely falls in the "what were they thinking?" category.
