What's your favorite eco-Halloween treat?

Featured Debate 35

With Halloween fast approaching, you may be counting the days until you can don your amazing costume (or carve a sweet, sweet jackolantern).  But what about the trick-or-treat goodies?  What are your favorites?

(Bonus points if they're organic and if you share your favorite Halloween costume)

Organic caramel apples with low-mercury razor blades hidden inside.  Kids love 'em.

 hahah dana you're hilarious.

i really like dots (so random and gross ingredients -- definitely not organic, ha!).  i also love any type of chocolate.  although there are certain treats -- like tootsie rolls -- that i particularly love and associate with halloween (as opposed to m&ms, which i have more regularly at the movies or to satisfy random cravings).  can't wait for halloween!

I would have to say sugar cookies, this year I hope to make them with organic sugar though :)

Mmm...those sound delicious!

Let's see, when I was a kid, my brother and I would always have late Halloween night trading sessions.  Spread out our candy on the floor and barter.  It was good times.  I always liked those little mini-Twix bars (but definitely not organic).

I did just pick up the Yummy Earth Lollipops.  They might be my new favorites.  Oh and Green & Black's mini chocolate bars (also organic).  But those are pretty pricey so they're really more stocking stuffers rather than Halloween treats....

I always loved the Crunch bars.  Halloween isn't a very eco-friendly holiday- all those candy wrappers, kids who get a new costume each year...

I've never tried this before, but maybe Halloween can be made a little more green by creating some candy wrapper art!  Not really sure what it would look like, but it would be nice to do something with all those wrappers...

Favorite costume?  Well, the last several years we always put on a little tin foil to collect a free Chipotle.  Then we take my sister (she has disabilities, so she can get away with trick or treating at our neighbors' houses even though she's 27!) to collect candy- she's always a witch.

I love making sugar cookies shaped like Easter eggs for Easter. :)  If I can find it, I'll make them with organic ingredients, and I'd love to make the frosting with organic confectioner's sugar--if I can find it. :)
