Huddler gets a Swash Ecoseat

Huddler HQ has had some fun products come through.  The latest to join the office is the Swash Ecoseat from Brondell.

It's a very cool product (don't worry, we'll be getting full reviews up soon).  We were pretty curious as to what exactly was going on down there, so after we installed it, we started messing around with it.  Well, check out the video.  All I'll say to preface it, is that dordal got awfully wet the first time around.  There was quite a bit of laughter that day.

Hah you goofs, you're not supposed to just shoot the water and see what happens!

That's an impressive water shooting range...

Did you guys remove the Sink Positive?  Or is this a different bathroom?

Wow - I could see siblings playing great jokes on each other and their friends with this one!!! LOL

To be honest I don't know how "green" it is, but I do really like the product from a functional perspective. I'll write up a full review ASAP.

Well that depends on the individual bidet.  From what I read, this is a pretty basic model, correct?  Like there are some bidets that use warm water and heat the seat and blow hot air on your rump and crazy unnecessary stuff like that.  Those I consider greenwashing to some degree.  But a regular bidet is green.

For example, as discussed in the bidets vs. toilet paper debateI measured that my bidet uses about one-quarter the water it takes to make the equivalent amount of toilet paper.  Then factor in the fact that you're reducing the number of trees cut down and the energy to produce and transport toilet paper, and it's definitely the green way to go.

I don't know Dana, I just submitted my review after significant testing and I don't think I'm actually saving TP in the end. It's definitely WAY more sanitary and is quite pleasant...I'm glad we have it, but I'm definitely not seeing significant TP savings.

For the record though, I was/am very impressed with their conservationist claims from when we spoke to Brondell at West Coast Green. This graphic is very compelling:

Huh that's odd.  With my bidet use I'd say the 75% toilet paper savings depicted in that graphic is accurate.  Maybe you need to work on your water accuracy!

Sharp eyes!  So...hahah...okay, I have a confession to make.  It's not actually Huddler's Sink Positive.  I got it as a house warming gift for my brother.  But we tested it out for about a week before I...err...put it back in the box and gave it to him.  We actually might be getting it back.  It didn't fit as well on his toilet (older unit, smaller tank), so it wasn't as stable as one might hope.

I don't blame you for checking it out- it sounds like a pretty cool contraption!  That's why  asked- I was excited about the high tech Huddler bathroom- something along the lines of the Man Kitchen on Home Improvement.  :)

Hahaha, yeah.  Well...it will be a really interesting experiment to make our toilet super eco-friendly with both a bidet seat and the Sink Positive.  It might be an intimidating looking toilet...but it could also revolutionize the...err...Huddler bathroom.

I've got the Sink Positive on my christmas wish list, so with any luck, that's what the dana1981 bathroom will look like in a few months.

I've got you beat.  Dr. Bronner's hand soap, Nature's Balance toilet paper, a Greenlite CFL, an EarthLED bulb, Nurture My Body organic shampoo, Earth Science shampoo, EO hand sanitizer, Seventh Gen shower cleaner, and a Niagara low flow showerhead.

My bathroom is all greenified, mostly thanks to the Huddler contests :-)
