Jacobs Wind Turbines

I am looking for a used one, anyone have a clue where I can look? Any opinions as to how Jacobs compares to other similar (10KW, 17.5KW and 20KW.) Thanks.

Hm, I wish I could help you out!  I'll keep thinking about where you might check.

Jacobs WInd turbines are the best you can buy, but you just have to make sure its a Jacobs and not a cheap knock off. The way you know is by the tail fin or you have REPCO install it.

Also if you need a used one, they are hard to find, I could find you a new one and set up a finance that wouldn't break the bank

Do you know what companies to look out for that might be selling Jacobs wind turbine nock-offs?

Where did you originally purchase the machine? I just want to make sure that the source or manufacturer has a good reputation and it's not a nock-off.

To avoid a knock-off get the serial # off the head unit and any on the inverter and go to www.windturbine.net it is wind turbine industries website and has contact info.  You should be able to contact them to check if it is a real jacobs.  Also be careful of any turbine that is being sold as rebuilt, they are sometimes just a paint job for the rebuild.  Back to the origional question.  I did a lot of looking before I bought a new one and had no luck finding a used one that was worth the money.  I only know about the 20kw; it is a heavy duty turbine, the WTIC angle iron tower is heavy duty and all of the predrilled holes were in the right spots, I did not have to oval out a single hole.  I have heard of some people having problems with some of the imported (China) turbines.  The supplier never makes the delivery and just disappears.

The environmental stakeholders will look at issues related to global warming, renewable energy, environmental impact of current methods of electricity production compared to wind power and the ecological impact of wind farm development.
