Thermostats that turn off automatically using motion sensors?

So it might sound a bit crazy, but does anybody have recommendations on thermostats that turn off the heat automatically when they don't sense anybody in the house? This could be done with motion sensors or some other technique, but it seems it would save a lot of energy....

To my knowlege, heating systems with occupancy sensors aren't really that common.  But check out this product (the CI-12, CI-24 Passive Infrared HVAC/BAS Ceiling Sensor) from WattStopper.  Has anyone out there had any experience with it?

Okay, in self-defense...I've been busy working on the huddle!  And clearly, after you let us know about your product, I knew about them!

But that last post was back in January when I was sheltered and naive about PIR thermostats.

Hey ION - did you see that we have a formal product page now for the ION Tx?

Thanks for generating all the content in the wiki, Stins started with that, now users can easily browse to it alongside all the other thermostats.

If you have some customers using it, you should send them over here to post some reviews to get the word out. Thanks again!
