January 2008, Seth Poulson and Rocco Luongo from Infinia Corporation gave their presentations (PDF) at the January Alternative Energy User Group meeting about the Solar Stirling Engine technology.
Seth Poulson did an excellent job discussing what Infina is doing and plans to do with Stirling engine technology. Rocco Luongo got technical about the cooling and heating aspects of the Solar Stirling engine. I interviewed Jim Clyde back in August 2007 regarding the Solar Stirling engine when the artist rendition showed a gun-turret kind of mount for the solar concentrator and stirling engine. Since then, they have gone to a pole version where the solar concentrator has internal engines that protect the mirrors from wind beyond 30 miles per hour and allows the unit to droop like a sunflower at the end of the day to protect the disc. It wakes back up in the morning to swivel around and catch the dawn of a new day.
