refilling the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner?

Though I CLAIM to use all natural cleaning products, it's a bit of a fib.  I'm guilty of using the Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner .  But every time I push that little blue button, I feel guilty about the cleaning solution that it's spraying.

I've tried last night re-filling an empty bottle with Seventh Generation's shower cleaner - that ended up with about half a bottle going right down the sink... the other half dripped out over night because I damaged the seal.  It would appear that the  manufacturer went through great lenghts to ensure that the bottles not get refilled (success be theirs!)

Has anyone else out there tried it?  Any tips?

PS - if any of the folks at Method glance at this post, it'd be a GREAT idea for you to come up with your own version of the automatic shower cleaner.  I prefer your daily shower spray to scrubbing bubbles any day.

PPS - Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum... I'm still a little confused about the workings of this site (But I have to say I love it!)

This is a great place for this question - no worries, and I'm glad you're liking the site.

I think the closest thing Method has is here

It's also one of the prizes in the contest we're running right now, so hopefully you can get your hands on a bottle that way. As far as refilling goes, I haven't tried putting Seventh Gen. or others into old bottles, but I will say I love Method's refillable hand soaps; I use those a lot.

They come in big bags with a nozzle on the end and it's REALLY easy to fill the individual hand soap bottles. On the bag it says that they use >80% less plastic to make those bags than to make a comparably sized hard plastic bottle. I haven't looked into it much, but I'm hoping they expand the concept to many of their other products.

Hi TreeHugger

I stumbled on this awhile ago, I thought perhaps it may be of some help to you.

I don't use this product, so I am unable to comment whether this "fix" works for it.

I think it would be worth a try.

I don't know if the cheaper replacement product is eco friendly or not.

I'm thinking adding your own home-made version "may" work here

Either way ...... let us all know how it works for you please
