Save the Bay has been around since 1961. Among other things, the organization works to protect the Bay from untreated sewage, garbage dumping, and filling projects, as well as restoring wetlands. They have a variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from winter plantings of native species to weeding wetlands to distributing information at local events.
